An NGO worker died after being hit by a truck

A motorcycle rider named Sihab Uddin (35) was killed after being hit by a Veku machine in Rajapur, Jhalkathi.

The accident took place at Khandkarbari area of ​​South Rajapur area of ​​Barisal-Bhandaria regional highway on Monday (May 25) afternoon.

The deceased Sihab Uddin is the son of Maksudur Rahman of Mahilara village of Gournadi upazila of Barisal. He was working as a field worker in the Bhandaria branch of Brak.

According to police and local sources, a veku machine used for digging a canal was climbing the highway from the side of the road. At that time, Sihab Uddin was returning home from his workplace Bhandaria on a motorcycle. Sihab died on the spot when the front part of the Veku machine accidentally hit him on the head.

Locals complained that the veku machine was being lifted on the highway without following any safety measures or rules.

Rajapur police station OC Sujan Biswas said, “The body has been recovered. Further legal action will be taken after talking to the family.”
