The U.S. has used about half of its THAAD missiles and about a third of its Patriot missiles since the war with Iran began, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
According to the research firm’s calculations, the US had approximately 2,330 Patriot interceptors before the start of the war, which has decreased from about 759 to 827 today.
Similarly, the US military had an estimated 452 THAAD missiles before the war, which has been reduced to around 234 to 278 today.
The agency warned that a renewed war would put America’s dwindling missile stockpiles to a greater test. In addition, declining stockpiles may require the US and its allies to take greater risks in ensuring defense.
CSIS said the figures were compiled from a review of the US Department of Defense’s 2027 budget documents and public information.
