A protest program has been called for tomorrow Wednesday in Habiganj city to protest against the attack on the leaders and workers of Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) in Habiganj. At the same time two pre-scheduled ‘July marches’ of Moulvibazar district have been temporarily suspended. In a warning message to BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman, NCP chief organizer Sarjis Alam said, ‘I want to see how much blood you can shed with your terrorist forces.’
Sarjis Alam gave this information in a post on the social media Facebook on Tuesday (July 28) night. He writes, according to the roadmap of the northern region, the march of Moulvibazar will be suspended on Wednesday. Instead, a protest march and rally will be held in Habiganj town at 3 pm to protest the BNP’s ‘heinous terrorist attack’ on the NCP.
Sarjis Alam said that NCP convener and opposition chief whip Nahid Islam and member secretary Akhtar Hossain will attend the protest rally on Wednesday. Apart from this, the two main organizers of NCP, North and South, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah will participate. Central joint convener. Several central level leaders including Atiq Mujahid and Sarwar Tushar are also scheduled to attend the programme.
Criticizing BNP’s top leadership in a Facebook post, Sarjis Alam wrote, ‘Mr. Tariq Rahman, we also want to see how much blood you can shed with your terrorist forces, how many youths’ eyes can be plucked out, how many people’s lives can be taken! See you on the road inshallah.’
It is to be noted that on the way back after the padayatra program in Habiganj on Tuesday evening, there was an attack on the NCP leaders. The group claims that Chhatra Dal and Juba Dal leaders and workers have planned this attack with indigenous weapons. At least 15 people including Sarjis Alam and Nasiruddin Patwari were injured. Sargees alleged that NCP workers suffered serious injuries including broken hands and head injuries in the attack.
