The remains of five newborns were recovered from the box

Police have recovered the remains of five newborns from a paper box in a house in the southeastern French city of Orange. The country’s law and order forces have started an investigation by filing a case of murder in this incident.

According to local media reports, a 32-year-old woman gave birth at that house last Sunday. Later, when he fell ill, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. At that time, a person who was with him informed the hospital authorities about a suspicious incident seen at home.

The person said that he came to know about the woman’s pregnancy very late. After knowing the matter, he was mentally broken and while searching the house, he found something like human remains in a paper box. Later, the police went to the spot and recovered the remains of five newborns.

After receiving this information, the police raided the house on Monday night. A forensic expert who examined the bones recovered from the scene initially said they were likely the remains of five newborns.

Officials related to the investigation said that due to the physical condition of the woman, it has not been possible to question her so far. She has two other children aged 8 and 9 in her family.

The presence of the police was seen at the scene on Tuesday. The entrance to the two-storey house has been cordoned off with red security tape and the investigation is ongoing.

Such incidents have happened in France before. Last March, the country’s court sentenced a 44-year-old woman to 25 years in prison in connection with the recovery of the remains of two newborns from a refrigerator.
