BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “There is no unheard language on social media, which is not used against our leaders. But we have to be careful. Our enemies are everywhere.”
He said these things at a discussion meeting organized in the memory of late politicians Mahbubul Haque and Mahbubul Alam Tara at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club in the capital on Friday (June 5) afternoon.
Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “The people are with us. The people are with this government. The people are with the head of this government, Tariq Rahman. He is the one sitting next to me, but he has brought this party to this place through a long struggle.”
He said, “Even though there were many incidents in the political life of the late leaders, they later returned to the mainstream of the party through reforms.”
He prayed for the forgiveness of their souls.
He also said, “Nationalist political power has reached its present position through long political movement and struggle. The democratic movement has been strengthened under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia and the party has moved forward only through the love and support of the people.”
He claimed, “The current political progress has been made through the support and participation of the people. At the same time, he pointed out that the party had to face various campaigns and propaganda at various times.”
Criticizing the ongoing situation on social media, the BNP leader said, “There is unheard of language and propaganda against party leaders. The party needs to be more careful about this.”
He said, “Party unity and organizational strength should be increased to counter the activities of political opponents and conspirators. People are still with BNP and have faith in the party leadership.”
Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “Party leaders and workers must work to realize the dream of late leader Mahbubul Alam Tara.”
