The board of directors of BRAC Bank, listed on the stock market, has decided to issue green bonds. The size of this bond will be 1 thousand crore rupees.
On Saturday (May 23), Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) informed this information.
This bond will be non-convertible, unsecured and fully repayable. Its size will be a maximum of 1 thousand crore rupees. The term will be maximum 3 years. It will be issued through private placement.
The Board of Directors of BRAC Bank has approved the proposal to issue 'BRAC Bank Green Bond' in its 395th meeting on May 21.
The bond will be issued to finance the bank's green financing activities. However, the bond will require the approval of the relevant regulatory agencies to execute it.
According to BRAC Bank, the money raised through the green bond will be used for environment-friendly or green financing initiatives.
