The hanging body of the young man was recovered from the hotel in Paltan

The police recovered the hanging body of a young man named Shubhra Rosario (28) from a residential hotel room in Dhaka's Paltan.

On Sunday (May 31) around 9 pm, the body was recovered and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased Shubhra Rosario's house is in Chaitan village of Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur. His father's name is late Ranjan Rosario. He was working as a cook at the Capital Hotel in Polton and lived there.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Paltan Police Station Mohammad Nuruzzaman said that after receiving the information, they raided room 518 of Capital Hotel and recovered the hanging body of Shubhra Rosario with a towel tied around her neck with a ceiling fan. After the legal process, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

He also said that the body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for post-mortem. Necessary legal process is ongoing in this incident.

Jamie Rosario, the brother of the deceased, said that his brother worked as a cook at the Capital Hotel and lived there. However, no one in the family can say anything about why he committed suicide.
