Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) central leader and Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah said, “Wherever Sheikh Hasina goes, the situation there becomes unstable. The situation has reached such a level that if Sheikh Hasina returns to Bangladesh not only she will have to bring Modi with her. Due to the current situation in India, Modi may also have to flee the country.”
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a road meeting organized as part of Jatiya Nagrik Party’s ‘Desh Gadte July Jagran’ program at Shafiullah Road adjacent to Mongla Municipality’s Shapla Chattar at 10 pm on Wednesday.
Hasnat Abdullah said, “Sheikh Hasina’s son is an American citizen, her daughter is a Canadian citizen, her sister is a British citizen and her sister’s sons and daughters are also British citizens. None of her relatives are Bangladeshi citizens. Whoever runs away saying ‘don’t run’, he will never come back even if he says ‘Asi Asi’.”
But he added, “We want him to come back. Because the people of the country have a regret. Every people of Bangladesh has a strong desire to see such a fascist hanging on the gallows.
In his speech, Hasnat Abdullah expressed extreme anger about the current overall political situation and human rights in the country and said, “After Tarek Rahman took power, the Mongla disappearances have been repeated like during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure, which has been written as a black chapter for the current BNP government. Even after Tarek Rahman took power, the oppressive system of the previous government is still maintained by the BNP government.”
Referring to the Disappearance Commission, he said, “Though the formation of the Disappearance Commission was recommended, the party whose most leaders and workers were once persecuted, today is the same party that has taken a stand against the Disappearance Commission. Currently, the Hasina-structure has been maintained very carefully in the country.”
Highlighting the long-term deprivation of the southern region, Hasnat Abdullah promised, “Upgrading the Mongla-Khulna road to four lanes and constructing a suspension bridge over the Mongla river is a long-standing demand of the people of the southern region. Jatiya Nagrik Party will be on the streets to establish this right of the people and implement these developmental projects.”
Criticizing the government, Hasnat Abdullah complained, “Even though the government promised employment to the common people, in reality no one got any employment. Instead of giving work to the common people, drugs have been handed over. Even the corridor of drugs is being run through the front road of the Home Minister’s house.” Regarding the media, he said, “Even though media mafias are making crores of rupees using the media today, ordinary media workers are not getting their fair wages.”
In the meeting, Hasnat Abdullah formally introduced Molya Rahmatullah, the joint chief organizer of the southern region of NCP, as the candidate for the post of mayor in the upcoming Mongla Port municipal elections.

Central and local top leaders of NCP along with Sohail were present.
