10,000 people in Iran have been cut off due to the attack

A report by Al Jazeera on Saturday (July 18) said that a water purification pump in Iran’s Hormozgan province was damaged by the US attack. As a result, residents of about 20 villages in the coastal village of Bunji in Jask County are facing water shortage.

In an interview given to Iran’s semi-official media outlet Tasnim News, the CEO of Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, Hamzeh Pour, said that a power transformer of the Bunji water purification plant and a pumping station for extracting water from the sea were destroyed by the attack of the US forces.

He termed the attack as a ‘serial crime and terrorist attack’ and said that the residents of the affected areas are currently facing acute water shortage.

Meanwhile, in response to the US attack, Iran counterattacked across the Middle East. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said part of a power and water treatment plant caught fire following the recent Iranian attack.

This has made it imperative to take precautionary measures, the ministry said in a statement. For this reason several power generating units have been disconnected to ensure the safety of the Center and its staff and to maintain the stability of the power grid.

In the statement, the ministry also said that all activities and emergency plans have been activated immediately after the attack. As a result, continuity and stability of both electricity and water networks is maintained. These measures have limited the potential impact on service. At the same time round-the-clock technical and operational monitoring continues.

Earlier, in a message posted on social media X, Centcom said that Centcom has been conducting operations in Iran for 7 consecutive nights. Our efforts to reduce Iran’s military capabilities continue as directed by the Commander in Chief of the US Defense Forces (President Donald Trump).

On the other hand, Iran called on the United States to immediately stop the air campaign. The country’s officials said, if the US forces continue to attack, then ‘Iran will be forced to enter a full-scale war.

In an immediate message after Friday night’s attack, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, the military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said that if the United States continues such attacks, Iran will not limit itself to counterattacks; A full-scale war would ensue and no political border (in the Gulf region) would be protected.
