According to the latest ‘Global Wealth Report’ by Switzerland-based bank UBS, the number of millionaires around the world is increasing, while economic inequality is intensifying.
This report, published for the 17th time, provides a detailed picture of how wealth is being created and distributed around the world, particularly in the United States, various countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
According to a report by UBS, the amount of human wealth around the world will increase for the third year in a row in 2025. During this period, the personal wealth increased by 10.8 percent; Which is more than double the growth rate of 2023 and 2024 (as per weighted average calculation).
Iqbal Khan, co-head of UBS Global Wealth Management, attributed the growth to changing economic conditions, technological transformation and new opportunities in various markets.
However, despite this growth in global wealth, the amount of median wealth or ‘median wealth’ has decreased in most countries. UBS said it is considered the ‘most accurate picture’ of the economic situation as the income impact of the very rich or high earners is smaller.
