Shyamal Mawla is a popular actor of small and big screen. He will also be active on the OTT platform. As a result, spend a busy time throughout the year. This actor talked about busyness in acting, memories of Eid.
Shyamal Mawla said, “I used to spend my childhood Eid in Dhaka's Shah Bagh. I am a city person from Agagora, so for me Eid means city. I have done only two Eids in the village—one Eid of fasting, the other Eid of sacrifice. And as a child we had only one hobby—riding a rickshaw on VIP Road on Eid.”
However, Shyamal Mawla does not want to divide village Eid, city Eid. He thinks that the feeling of celebrating Eid depends on where he grew up, whether there are familiar people, the joy of spending time with them. “Those who grew up in Dhaka will like Dhaka. Those who grew up in the village will like it. The joy of Eid depends on where to meet old friends. In other words, people are the most important for a place to be loved,'' he said.
When asked about any memorable incident of Qurbani Eid, Shyamal Mawla said, “There were four of us together with three brothers and father. Once we ourselves were trying to sleep the sacrificial cow for slaughter. I was scared because the cow suddenly came close to me. Then somehow I managed to hold the cow's horn and lay him down. It could have been a major accident. But in the end I survived and the cow was also put to sleep. It was funny in a way. Because even though I was young, I was able to do something that even adults couldn't do. However, another time he ate a cow's leg and lost his leg.
Shyamal Mawla mentions that he likes the entire process of the sacrifice, starting from buying and taking care of the cow, grooming it and preparing it for the sacrifice.
“When I was young, I used to celebrate Eid, and now I have to celebrate Eid. When I was a child, I had no responsibilities, I just enjoyed,” said the actor, pointing out the difference between Eid in his childhood and today. “Now, the responsibilities are much greater; One has to take the responsibility of organizing Eid for others or making arrangements to make their Eid good. The present day of Eid is therefore a day of duty rather than choice, so as to ensure the comfort and happiness of all the family.
Shyamal Mawla doesn't have any special dishes that are a must-have on the Eid menu. There is no fixed preference for food. Eat what is cooked at home. But he can cook any beef item well. He has some special memories of Eid salami.
“I have a sad memory of salami. I once spent all of Salami's money on video games, which I later regretted. Since then I don't like video games or gambling, casino stuff.''
This actor wants to give one message to the fans on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. And that is the invitation to watch 'Banlata Express'. He urged those who haven't been able to watch the movie yet to watch it when it comes on YouTube.
