In May 2026, expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances to the country of about three and a half billion US dollars.
According to Bangladesh Bank data published on Monday (June 1), the total remittance received during this period was 3 thousand 425.03 million US dollars, which is 15.34 percent more than the 2 thousand 969.46 million dollars received at the same time last year.
From July 1 to May 31 of the current fiscal year, total remittances reached 32,756,78 million dollars, which is 19.09 percent higher than the 27,506,86 million dollars received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
This continuous increase in remittance flows is playing an important role in maintaining the stability of the country's foreign sector, strengthening the foreign exchange reserves and strengthening the resilience of the overall macroeconomics.
