The price of gold has increased again in the country’s market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) increased the price by 1 thousand 33 taka and fixed the new price of 22 carat gold at 2 lakh 21 thousand 441 taka.
Bajus informed this information in a circular on Tuesday (July 21) morning. The new price came into effect from 10:30 am on the same day.
According to Bajus, the price of acid gold (pure gold) has increased in the local market. In view of this, the new price of gold including VAT has been fixed considering the overall situation.
According to the new prices, the price of 22 carat gold per bari (11.664 grams) including VAT will be Tk 2 lakh 21 thousand 441. Apart from this, 21 lakh 11 thousand 468 taka per 21 carat gold, 1 lakh 81 thousand 608 taka per 18 carat gold and 1 lakh 48 thousand 366 taka per traditional method gold have been fixed.
Bajus also said that these prices will remain in effect until further notice. However, wages will be applicable according to the design of the ornaments. Besides, as VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
Earlier on Tuesday (July 14), Bajus had reduced the price of 22 carat gold by 2 thousand 158 rupees to 2 lakh 19 thousand 808 rupees. Apart from this, the price of gold is fixed at 2 lakh 9 thousand 894 taka per 21 carat, 1 lakh 80 thousand 267 taka per 18 carat and 1 lakh 47 thousand 316 taka per traditional method.
So far this year, the price of gold has been adjusted 92 times in the country’s market. Out of this 45 times the price has increased, 46 times it has decreased and 1 time VAT has been adjusted.
