Five NCP leaders disappeared without paying 12 lakh hotel rent!


Stayed for eight months and left the hotel with a bill of 12 lakhs in arrears. Such allegations have been made against 5 people including member secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Branch of National Citizen Party (NCP) Engineer SM Shahriar. The hotel authorities complained that apart from non-payment of rent, the accused also committed immoral activities. NCP says proper action will be taken after investigation.


Hotel Yameni International is located in Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Sarani of the capital. On July 25 last year, three people, including member secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South NCP Engineer SM Shahriar, booked two rooms of the hotel for 10,000 taka. From then until February 12 this year, dozens of activists stayed in the two rooms.


The hotel authorities complained that the NCP people were stranded on the night of the 13th Parliament election without paying a single penny for rent except the booking money of Tk 10,000 for a long eight months. Leave their used clothes.


The hotel authorities also said that when contacted for rent, the accused threatened them with party identity. Later, Yemeni International submitted a written complaint to the NCP office against five people.




Apart from Engineer SM Shahriar, the five accused are Sadek Mirza (Organizational Secretary, Dhaka Metropolitan South), Mirasat Hossain Himel (Chief Coordinator of Jatrabari Police Station), Shakhawat Hossain and Tauseep.


In this regard, the party’s joint convener Atiq Mujahid said that a five-member investigation committee has been formed. Action will be taken against the accused including SM Shahriar if evidence of crime is found in the investigation.
