Protection of self-interest is unacceptable: Ishraq Times BD BANGLADESH

Minister of State for Liberation War Affairs Ishraq Hossain said that protecting a vested interest group is very sad and unacceptable. At the same time, he called for an end to conspiracies and propaganda against BNP candidates and martyred activists.

The state minister said these things in his verified Facebook post on Friday (July 24).

Ishraq said in the post, if someone tries to protect a vested interest, it is not acceptable. He also said that in the past various large industrial groups and related individuals have been accused of economic irregularities, spreading political influence and supporting dictatorial governments.

However, he demanded to take necessary legal action by verifying the truth of the allegations without convicting any organization or person without evidence.

He further said that the group which will conspire against BNP candidates and defectors by using media, money and political mercenaries, their activities should be resisted politically and legally. Otherwise it may have serious negative impact on future local and national elections.

He said, those who do BNP, should remember the interests of the party and the country above personal interests. No one has the right to harm the political future of a party, a region or a city for the financial or business benefit of an individual.

State Minister Ishraq said, first the top leadership of the party and the honorable Prime Minister will be sought for remedies and guidance in these matters. If the conspiracies, propaganda and attempts to spread immoral influence do not stop, then all democratic, organizational and legal steps will be taken.

He also said that those who today act as ‘gatekeepers’ of various large groups should remember that this role is temporary. All those who financed the murderous Hasina’s regime and with whose help repression and massacres were allegedly carried out against the people must be brought to justice.

At the same time, State Minister Ishrak Hossain said that if an industrial establishment is closed, the livelihood of thousands of workers will be affected, which is not desirable in any way. Therefore, apart from bringing the accused owners and related persons under accountability, the government must also ensure that the institutions are operated through professional, transparent and legal management.

He also said, not personal vendetta; Rather, their main demand is to reveal the truth, ensure accountability, establish the rule of law and ensure the respect and safety of the party’s martyred leaders and workers.
