Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei gave a strong message against the US attack. Washington must learn an “unforgettable lesson” from Tehran and its regional allies, he warned the US. At the same time, he also accused of repeatedly violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries.
Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet, reported this information on Saturday (July 18).
In a written statement aired on state television, Mojtaba Khamenei claimed that by violating the memorandum of understanding signed last month, the United States had proved that President Donald Trump’s signature had no effect.
In the statement, he added, the continued violation of the agreement has again sent a message to the world about the policy of the United States. His complaints, pressure, dominance and tough stance are part of US political strategy.
The United States this week dramatically stepped up attacks on Iran targeting civilian infrastructure, including bridges, rail lines and water treatment plants. In response, Tehran successfully attacked civilian infrastructure in Kuwait. As a result, the country’s authorities have urged residents to conserve electricity.
Meanwhile, despite the Islamabad agreement, the United States continues to attack Iran periodically. A school in Iran’s Minab was also targeted in the attack, which began on February 28. Hundreds of children have died. In addition, the United States has also targeted Iran’s nuclear program.
Centcom said in a post on social media X on Saturday that they have been conducting operations in Iran for seven consecutive nights. Under the guidance of President Donald Trump, the commander-in-chief of the US armed forces, their campaign to reduce Iran’s military capabilities continues. However, today this campaign is on the eighth day.
On the other hand, Iran called on the United States to immediately stop the airstrikes. If US forces continue to attack, Iran will be forced into a full-scale war, officials say.
In an immediate message after Friday night’s attack, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said, ‘If the United States continues such attacks, Iran will not limit itself to counterattacks; A full-scale war will ensue. In that case, no political border in the Gulf region of the Middle East will be secure.’
