13 crore 66 lakh less expenditure than IDRA approved management expenditure limit; At the same time, claims settlement increased by 16.93 percent

According to data released by the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Guardian has achieved the highest savings among all insurance companies in the country against the permissible management expenditure limit in the first quarter of 2026.
As per IDRA rules, the company’s allowable management expenditure limit at that time was Tk 63 crore 67 lakh. In contrast, the actual cost of company management was only 50 crores and 1 lakh crores. That is, Guardian has spent Tk 13 crore 66 lakh less than the allowed limit.
Guardian has always been successful in controlling management costs. In the year 2025 also, the approved management expenditure limit of the organization was Tk 226.36 crore. During that time the management expenditure was Tk 192.31 crore and saving was Tk 34.05 crore against the sanctioned expenditure limit.
At the same time, Guardian has continued to make positive progress in fulfilling its commitments to policyholders. In the first quarter of 2026, the company paid 56,478 insurance claims, which amounted to Tk 150.84 crore. In the corresponding period of the previous year, this amount was Rs. 129 crore and the number of insurance claims paid was 46,134. As a result, the claim settlement increased by 16.93 percent in one year.
The company’s latest financial figures reflect its consistent focus on managing cost control as well as timely settlement of claims and customer service. Guardian has continued to maintain prudent financial management by maintaining management costs well below IDRA’s prescribed cost limits, while demonstrating its commitment to ensuring more timely assistance and better service to policyholders through growth in claims settlement.

Guardian Life has also increased customer base while maintaining cost savings. As of March 2025, the number of individual policyholders under the insurance protection of the company was 1 crore 26 lakh. In 2026, that number has increased to 1.3 million.
