I have prayed that independence-sovereignty may remain intact: Jamaat Amir


Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and opposition leader of the National Parliament Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, we have prayed to Allah that the independence and sovereignty of this country will continue.


He said this while talking to reporters after paying tribute to the brave martyrs at Savar National Memorial on the Great Independence and National Day on Thursday (March 26) morning.


Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We have prayed to God that the independence and sovereignty of this country will continue.” May Allah shower peace and mercy on the people of the country and may everyone work together to build a non-violent, corruption-free, non-discrimination, humane Bangladesh.


He said, through you (journalists), we are wishing the entire nation on Independence and National Day. Alhamdulillah, we have come to fulfill a moral duty. It is the supreme ritual of the state. Like everyone else, we have come to pay our respects to our brave martyrs.
