India’s Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned accepting responsibility for the question paper leak. His resignation was the main demand of the agitation led by the Cockroach Janata Party in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
Soon after Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on Saturday (July 25), the Cockroach Janata Party said its agitation is not stopping now. According to the group, only one of the three main demands has been fulfilled; If the remaining two demands are not met, the agitation will continue.
One of the remaining two demands is to give Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of the students who committed suicide while participating in the medical entrance examination. The other is to take action against policemen who attack protesters.
Party chief Abhijit Deep said in a message to X that there is nothing to fear, this is the process of democracy. He pointed out that even though the Education Minister has resigned, the compensation demands of the families of the students who committed suicide are still incomplete. He also said that they will be firm in their demand to take action against the policemen who attacked the protestors on July 20. He warned in the message not to engage in conflict with party workers.
