Police fired shells and lathi charge in chaos at the protest site in Delhi


Police lathi-charged and tear-shelled protesters at Jantar Mantar in capital New Delhi after India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned.


The Times of India reported that stone pelting took place first and did not clarify whether the protesters threw stones at the police or not.

Earlier, the newly appointed Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation before 12 noon on Saturday. After this there is excitement in the Jantar Mantra.


Earlier yesterday, a delegation of the Cockroach Janata Party, which led the agitation, held a two-hour long meeting with Health Minister JP Nadda. At that time the representatives of the Cockroach Party came with an ultimatum for Dharmendra’s resignation. Today again the cockroach party meeting with Nadda was scheduled.


But in the morning, the Cockroach Party said that they will not hold any talks until the Education Minister resigns. Within a few hours, Dharmendra’s resignation was announced.


In his resignation letter, he mentioned that he has taken responsibility for the leak of the medical entrance exam question paper.


The Times of India also reported that Health Minister JD Nadda along with another Union Minister Jitendra Singh arrived at the Constitution Club of India for talks with the Cockroach Party.
