Iran has claimed the destruction of 11 warplanes and helicopters of the US forces during the 15-day armed conflict with the US. The country’s military, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said several US military installations and equipment were damaged in the counterattack. They also claimed that more than a hundred US soldiers were killed.
However, Washington did not immediately comment on these Iranian claims.
IRGC spokesman Mohebbi claimed the destroyed military equipment included 17 surveillance and operational drones. 8 of these were new technology drones.
He also claimed that an F-15 fighter jet in a secure hangar, a P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, a C-17 military transport aircraft and eight aerial refueling aircraft were also destroyed.
According to Mohebbi, these aircraft were destroyed while at various US military bases. However, he did not reveal any specific information about which base these attacks were carried out.
The IRGC spokesman also claimed that 9 US command and control centers, 5 satellite communication systems, 6 Patriot air defense radars, 3 air and naval surveillance radars, 8 intelligence and early warning radars and 7 missile defense radars were destroyed or damaged in the Iranian attack. Apart from this, several logistics centers, fighter aircraft maintenance centers, fuel tanks and weapons depots were demolished.
US suspends attack on Iran for fear of running out of interceptors
Mohebbi claimed that more than 200 US soldiers had been killed in Iran’s counterattack, citing that the United States had previously carried out strikes in violation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding with the Trump administration. He claimed that the number of casualties reported by Washington was ‘completely false’.
Mohebbi said eight facilities housing US troops were attacked, one of which had 20 shelters completely destroyed. He called on Washington to allow impartial journalists access to the sites of the attacks, so that the actual situation could be independently verified.
The IRGC spokesman warned that if the UK or any of the Gulf countries supported US military operations against Iran, they too would be considered ‘legitimate targets’ of Tehran’s attacks. Mentioning that US B-1 bombers have recently been operated using British air bases, he said, if London continues this support, they will also be attacked.
Meanwhile, Mohebbi warned Israel not to start any new military operations, saying that Israel will face severe consequences if the war resumes. At the same time, he complained that Israel is inciting the use of US military force in the region by giving false intelligence to President Donald Trump.
